Sizing based on measurements worked for me. Slit was too long for my taste, but can be sewn partially up.
I ordered based on my measurements (40" bust, 34" waist, 45" hips) and it fits well and it's the right length for me (hem just above the floor when I wear low heels). I got XL and am 5'9". It's not too big; XL seems like the smallest I could have gone without it being too small (even though my size for other clothes is usually L). I didn’t receive my dress until AFTER I left for the wedding so I had to use the backup Amazon dress I purchased in case. But when I returned from the trip it was waiting, so I tried it on.
