Sizing based on measurements worked for me. Slit was too long for my taste, but can be sewn partially up.
I ordered based on my measurements (40" bust, 34" waist, 45" hips) and it fits well and it's the right length for me (hem just above the floor when I wear low heels). I got XL and am 5'9". It's not too big; XL seems like the smallest I could have gone without it being too small (even though my size for other clothes is usually L). I like how the tie in the back makes it so you can adjust how high or low the neckline is. The slit felt very high to me, especially when it spread open when sitting, so I sewed it up about 6 inches and it still looks good.

Not sold on it
I didn’t receive my dress until AFTER I left for the wedding so I had to use the backup Amazon dress I purchased in case. But when I returned from the trip it was waiting, so I tried it on. Fit was ok, it was a rush order that took the same time as a regular order, but the sewing seemed also rushed. I don’t know if I tied it wrong but the chest part was uneven, like the material for the chest area started at different places on each side so it was lopsided. Also they say they make these dresses to order but it’s wild to me that you can’t request that they see the silt up to be lower. That is not a modification that requires measurements or size, and the slit is very very high. Before I received my dress, they noted the long shipping times and blamed tariffs (it sat in LA for over a week and it was four days in between each shipping update on the way to NY, so it wasn’t a tariff issue) but they did refund my rush order fee and the shipping in general, and I appreciate that, but I would have appreciated a dress more. When I came back and returned it, it was an easy process and they later returned my restocking fee as well, so the customer service is great. But overall for the price and my experience, I’m not impressed. I will only use this site if a future bride absolutely requires it.

Stunning! This dress is so beautiful on. I ordered a few different sizes and the lengths are quite a bit different from one size to the next. Be ready to have them hemmed if you don't want a train.
