Psst…if you’re the MOH you should kick things up a notch (read more here).

Emotional Support

One of the most important roles of a bridesmaid is to provide unwavering emotional support to the bride throughout the wedding planning process (crazy in-laws, anyone?). Listen to her concerns, offer advice when asked, and be a calming presence during moments of stress.

Wedding Planning Assistance

From dress shopping to DIY projects, bridesmaids often play a crucial role in helping the bride bring her wedding vision to life. Attend fittings, offer to address invitations, and assist with any other menial tasks the bride may need help with.

Attend Pre-Wedding Events

As a bridesmaid, you'll likely be expected to attend various pre-wedding events, including engagement parties, bridal showers, and bachelorette parties. Make an effort to participate enthusiastically and help make these occasions memorable for the bride.

Coordinate with Other Bridesmaids

If there are multiple bridesmaids, communication and coordination are key. Work together to plan bridal shower games, organize transportation for the bridal party, and ensure that everyone is on the same page leading up to the big day.

Book that Dress Fitting

Be proactive about scheduling dress fittings and alterations to ensure that your attire fits perfectly on the wedding day. Having alterations will make you feel more confident on your bestie’s big day!

Ceremony Support

On the wedding day, be prepared to assist the bride with any last-minute tasks, such as bustling her dress or holding onto her belongings during the ceremony. Stay by her side throughout the day to offer support and reassurance, today is the day to throw out all the compliments!

Reception 101

Okay, so it’s time to let loose and have some champagne but just keep an eye out for any small emergencies. You can always help by welcoming guests, directing them to their seats, and participating in the bridal party entrance and dances.

Stay Positive and Flexible

Wedding planning can be stressful, and unexpected challenges may arise along the way. As a bridesmaid, it's important to maintain a positive attitude and remain flexible in the face of changes or setbacks.

Have Fun

Last but not least, don't forget to have fun! Being a bridesmaid is a unique opportunity to celebrate the love between your friend or family member and their partner. Embrace the experience, cherish the memories, and be proud of the role you play in making their special day unforgettable.
